The Clapping GamePlace: Sierra Leone

Form of organisation: entire group

Materials: none

Description of the game:

The more children there are, the more fun they have playing this game which requires no materials. Everyone, smaller and bigger children can join in.

You form a circle, and one of you is the game leader. Together you sing a song, which is easy to clap along to. While doing so, the game leader goes from one player to the next. He demonstrates a different pose to every child, for example, one child has to place his hands on his head and may only stand on one leg. This means he cannot of course clap and he is not even allowed to continue singing. The game is over when the last child has put himself in a pose and all are silent. If the game leader then claps his hands, everyone is allowed to move again and the game can recommence.
